Jax’s Story
In a time when we felt everything crashing down around us and had the weight of the world on our shoulders, Corey and Brittany reached out to us and offered the help we never expected. Our son, Jax, was two years old at the time and had two brain tumors in his brainstem. He needed brain surgery to retrieve a biopsy, which led to a multitude of complications post surgery. As his mother, I knew it was vital that I be more available to him during his time of need, so I resigned from my job as a RN to be home.
My husband now had to support our family of five on his income as a Police Officer. Brittany, who I met through her Zyia activewear business, was instantly so kind and always offered prayers and words of encouragement. One day, she and Corey reached out about their charity and before I knew it, donated enough money to us that we didn't have to worry about our house payment for two whole months. It was incredibly generous and made our time of need not only less stressful but also reminded us that God has angels on earth to help us all through hard times.
We will never be able to thank the Buckner family enough for the compassion and generosity they showed us during our time of need.
